You’re a social media whiz, right? You’re posting on a regular basis, finding content and engaging with your followers.
To take your social media presence to the next level, it’s important to incorporate other apps and services into your routine—whether they help you make your photos better, manage your presence or monitor your interactions.
Canva (Online Only)
If you’ve spent much time surfing the Internet you’ve probably seen a lot of inspiration-type posters. Have you wondered where they come from? Canva is a service that allows you to create these types of images yourself. It’s a fun tool that’s great to play around with.
Over ($1.99)
A great app for adding text to your photos. Over features standard and custom-made fonts and well-crafted artwork to make your photos stand out. You can then easily share the photos on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other social networks, or via email or message.
A free version of Over is available called Overgram, but this app adds a watermark to your photos and doesn’t include as many design elements.
Flipagram ($1.99)
Flipagram allows you to bring your photos to life by combining them into short video slideshows set to music. The app pulls photos from your Facebook, Instagram and Camera Roll, lets you choose a length (6 seconds for Vine, 15 seconds for Instagram or longer for other uses), arrange and edit your photos, and then add either a narration or music. Flipagram even offers a library of license-free music for you to use, including popular songs.
A free version of Flipagram is available, but it will add a watermark to your videos.
PicStich (Free)
This app allows you to quickly combine multiple photos into one framed picture collage. PicStich provides the ability to edit and combine photos in a host of different layouts, and then easily share the photos on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other social networks, or via email or message.
While using the PicStich app you’ll have the chance to make in-app purchases to give you with filter effects, more layout options and borders.
HootSuite (Free)
HootSuite offers both online and app versions that provide the ability to schedule social media posts in advance. By linking your accounts (we’ve found Twitter works the best on a consistent basis), you can schedule posts and monitor people’s interaction with your online accounts.
You can also upgrade HootSuite with a monthly payment to add more features.
Bit.ly (Free)
A website and app that links to your Twitter profile and allows you to shorten and track links. For Twitter, where you only have 140 characters, shortening a link offers a great opportunity to save space. With Bit.ly you can also track the performance of your shortened links, seeing how many people click on them.
Dropbox (Free)
Dropbox is a website and app service that allows you to store documents, photos and videos in the cloud. This is great if you need to transfer a photo from your computer to your phone or vice versa. Dropbox makes it simple to access your files from any device.
A basic Dropbox account, with 2GB of storage, is free. For a monthly increase you can increase how much storage you’re allotted.
